Just 15 miles from West Sedona, located in the ‘heart’ of Arizona, Cottonwood sits at an elevation of 3,300’ offering a wonderfully moderate climate that is enjoyed year-round. Just above the heat of the desert, the nights are cool and enjoyable in the summer months and in winter Cottonwood below the cold of Arizona’s high country and snowfall.

Surrounded by the beautiful red rocks of Sedona to the northeast and Mingus Mountain to the southwest the views are stunning! State parks, historic sites and enticing attractions offer activities for all ages. Come visit Dead Horse State Park for a quiet walk around the ponds, or head up the road to Out of Africa Wildlife Park to see the lions and tigers! The Verde River provides opportunities for float trips, swimming, along with wonderful habitat for one of the Southwest’s largest concentrations of resident and migratory birdlife.

Visiting Old Town Cottonwood you’ll enjoy the wonderful restaurants, shops and tasting rooms. There are many local Arizona wineries and tasting rooms on the Verde Valley Wine Trail. Every winery has its own unique personality and distinct wines for visitors to discover at each stop.
